Bosco Pizza, Bristol

Let me introduce to you, one of my favourite places to eat and enjoy food in Bristol, Bosco Pizzeria. I remember my first visit well. New Year’s Eve 2014, a few friends and I decided food with a few drinks would be the best way to see in the New Year. Very last minute arrangement (as ever) but we managed to score a reservation on the day, which I have to stress would never happen now! I hadn’t heard anything about this new pizza place but it didn’t matter, having food cooked for me is always something I look forward to. What I didn’t expect, was to be completely bowled over by the insanely delicious choices on offer!

Fast forward three years and Bosco is still somewhere I frequent. Forever recommending to anyone looking for a tasty bite in the city because there’s something to please everyone here.

Bosco have built up a worthy reputation of great, wood-fired sourdough pizza in Bristol. And I whole-heartedly agree, theirs are up there with some of the best. You can see the chefs lovingly working the dough by the open kitchen at the back. I love watching them being made. They are much more than just pizza though and you can get an idea of some of the other dishes here.Bosco Pizza, Bristol

My favourite of them all, the wood roasted Parmigiana di Melazane. Layers of aubergine between tomatoes and cheese. Meltingly soft, rich and oozing with mozzarella. Sounds good, right? Every bit as good as it looks and sounds, you have my word!Bosco Pizza, BristolBosco Pizza, BristolBosco Pizza, BristolBosco Pizza, Bristol

The ingredients are fresh and seasonal where possible. All in plain sight at the back of the restaurant too. I’ve always been a believer in good quality ingredients to enjoy the best of food. Bosco’s small plates from the menu are a lovely reminder of this. As above, anchovies with nothing but olive oil, parsley and garlic. Simple perfection. Bosco Pizza, BristolBosco Pizza, Bristol

I hope you’re feeling tempted to pay them a visit now! I know I am, even just one week later. You can find them in two locations in Bristol, Whiteladies Road and Clifton Village. I hope to see you there soon!
