Honestly, I hadn’t heard of The Litton before they reached out to me personally. Being in Bristol means I’m so spoiled for good food that there’s little reason to venture elsewhere! The Litton is a cosy little pub, about 30 minutes drive from Bristol, a good stop off point if you’re off out for the day to Wells or Glastonbury. They’ve recently refurbished and had a bit of an overhaul, offering 12 boutique rooms where you can stay the night too.
The Litton is the kind of place you hope to stumble upon after a brisk, cold walk through the countryside. With the fire roaring and friendly staff waiting to welcome you into the warmth. There’s definitely something for everyone here, even dogs are welcome too. I have a soft spot for anywhere happy to accommodate four-legged friends. I always say if I didn’t run a food blog I’d be blogging about dogs! Anyway…feast your eyes on this plate of gorgeousness:
On the menu, you’ll find a good mix of old pub favourites alongside new and exciting dishes. Burgers, classic gammon with pineapple, steak, chips and the rest. More fanciful pretty plates like the torched mackerel, pickled cauliflower, grape, caper and tarragon are a real treat. Everything sounded worth ordering. The chefs are clearly working hard on dishes that are a celebration of locally sourced produce and the very best of what’s in season. Two things that are of the utmost importance to me when it comes to good food! I really love what they are doing here and definitely hope to make it back soon.

The Litton were kind enough to cover the cost of all food and drink for this post. As always, words and opinions are of course my own.
